"Today"-plugin

Postby FI-DD » Wed Mar 08, 2006 2:50 pm

You can use this plugin instead of the {date}-tag.

It will show for example "Today, 15:34:23" or "Yesterday, 12:26:03". If the article is older than "Yesterday" it displays the normal date.

Upload it to the plugins folder, activate it and use {today} in your template.

There is a problem with this plugin or with the cache - if the cache is true, the date (today - yesterday - date) doesn't change! So it's a quite big problem...

I think there is problem with using this plugin and rating (nonajax) concurrently... when they're activated both, showing of posts ic collapting (sometimes it shows only some posts, sometimes none, etc..).

Just tested it on the demo page. It's working great.

You did activate the plugin, didn't you?

FI-DD my man, you still think I'm retarded

Yep I did, i'm quessing it probably doesn't work because 1. I use the a different language then the default one and which gave me some problems before and 2. i changed quite a bit of code overtime and don't know exactly what i changed :P So in order to get it working I probably had to reinstall everything and i'm not feeling quite up to that right now :P 8)

Anyways, thanks for your time and concern, as always you're probably the only one who can really solve the tricky problems here, scott is doing a hell of a job supporting the newbies!

Haha thanks, I guess that's my specialty :P I been wonderin where you been at lately Ramon.. I've been working secretly on anonymous web projects.. that's why lots of questions but no URL's to any sites. I'm experimenting and trying to make cutenews.ru do exactly what I've always wanted it before I start playing hardcore again.

Anyway, completely unrelated.. obviously I don't know how to make the today plugin work.. you're probably right.. probably due to all your modifications or something.. and the language..

Of course, I don't think that. But that was the first that came into my mind when you mentioned that you only see the {today} tag.

Really nice plugin! Is it possible to have X days ago instead of showing the regular date output? Today, Yesterday, 3 days ago, 4 days ago and so forth... ?

There's a plugin called "ago" included in the main download.

Works fine for me. For the dutch people in today.php just replace the words in line 21 & 24.
