A new skin - not done

This is basically a post to display an unfinished skin for CuteNews.RU.

Screenshots of what I got so far:

This is just a concept at the moment. The link to forgotten password simply uses the password recovery plugin.

Main:

The external tools are at the moment simply links typed directly into the main.mdu.

Add:

The textboxes grow according to how much content there is in them (using jQuery).

The + next to the avatar field opens the image manager with an option to insert images into the field.

The categories are in an accordion menu, parent categories are displayed and categories with children categories are clickable to display the children categories. This is useful if you got many categories.

The box called tagged are clickable tags (based on Lexa's keywords plugin), it is not quite finished yet, but you can see it used here: http://buekorpsene.com/index.php/2009/11/03/grasrotandelen-fortsatt-store-inntekter-til-buekorpsene.html (the link below "Emneord" is a tag).

All the posts are small accordions, when clicked you get options to edit/delete and the categories it is posted in (not quite done yet)

The accordion menu with categories is used to show posts in the category clicked, the options link displays the normal edit news options


It is far from done, and I'm open for both suggestions and criticism.

For example, we can integrate a new WYSIWYG editor, WYSIWYG why not open,
I already use it on a lite version of my cms.

And it is perfect and open source
We can even add smiley

Skin looks really nice.
Only problem which I could think of is horizontal menu, we'll have to make a dropdown menu for it to cover all the options, I personally prefer vertical menus when I know I'll have alot of options included. Maybe it wouldn't be bad to make both versions so users could choose which one they prefer more.

Which things do you guys think should be on the main page when you log in to cutenews.ru?

Right now I got the following things showing:

The Gmail, Aanalytics, etc boxes are simply links to those services.

It is obviously not done.

Any additional things you want there?
Anything you want to be removed?

Just in case you wonder where the system diagnostics went: if something is unwritable (such as userpics) it will show an error message.

As I see it we have a couple of ways to go with the main page:

1) We can make something like the iPhone homescreen:
links to "apps", eg: add news, edit news, system settings, edit templates, edit categories, etc
We could possibly sort these "apps" by category.

2) Dashboard:
Latest developments (news, categories), statistics, etc.

And another note:
Do you all think that a line of links to popular webservices such as Google Analytics and Gmail is a good idea?
- if yes: which links should be there by default, how should an admin be able to edit the links, who should be able to see them?

Well, can't say that I saw such links in other CMS out there, but what is popular is the ability to provide rss feeds to some popular services.
