Administration Links Plugin - V1.0

Postby DarkSlim » Sun Oct 25, 2009 1:34 pm

As a webmaster, ever had too many links to manage?

Links for parts of the site, for uploading stuff, for checking the stats,
for managing ads, forums, affiliates etc'?

We, the Webmasters and Admins have many tools for managing our
websites, and checking the favorites all the time or trying to remember
where do you had that, or what's the link to that isn't always so easy.

That is why I made a convenient solution for having all the important
links and stuff right in your CuteNewsRu options menu, getting it all
as fast as loging in - plus! you can share it with other Admins or even
Editors or Writers as you wish! :)

Installation:
1. Download the attached .rar file and unpack it.
2. adminlinks.php goes to the plugins folder and the adminlinks folder (and it's contents) goes there as well.
3. adminlinks.ini goes to your langfolder/plugins/

Just press on 'Options' and you will see the 'Administration Links'.

To change the links just edit the file 'plugins/adminlinks/adminlinks.txt'
it contains HTML format so you can even give titles, play with the style
insert images and even tables to sort your valuable links!

To make the page available for your Editors too edit the adminlinks.php
look for:
Code: Select all
'access'          => '1',

And just change the number to:
2 for editors
3 for writers

And even 4 for commenters - you can have more uses for this mod!
You can make it a links or info (or whatever) page for your users,
you can edit the lang file and change the name of the page and it's
contents easily. ;)

Added in Version 1.0:
* New editor for the Admin! now when the admin enters the links page he has a new
link just above the footer which lets him edit the adminlinks.txt online from the web!
Edit your links easily from everywhere! supports html, javascript and php code!
* Updated code.

The mod is currently V1.0, I will upload new version when available.
More ideas will be accepted!

Thanks and hope it will help! 8)

Any chance of a screenshot to show what it's like? Sounds really useful.

No problem, I have added a demonstration screenshot to the first post. :)

It shows a general page with links sorted howerver I like it, and you can
do alot more with it!

It is all simply HTML, you need to edit the 'adminlinks.txt' file
and add the html links you want, for example:

<a href="http://www.url.com" target="_blank">URL Name</a>

This is how a simple html link looks like, just change the 'url.com'
with your wanted url and the 'URL Name' with the wanted url's name
or description. :)

To skip a line (line break) use the tag <br>

For more information about the "a" tag check w3schools: Link

As I said, in the 'adminlinks.txt' you can use any html code you would like,
tables, images, scripts, php code may work too.

Yup, in adminlinks.txt you put all the links/info/whatever
you would like to show in that page for you or for your editors etc' :)
