Cutenews.RU and Strawberry?

Still trying to understand Cutenews.RU vs Strawberry

I am currently using Cutenews.RU 2.4.4 with MegaPlugins and experimenting with Strawberry 1.1.1

There appears to be an active international community working with and adding to Cutenews.RU but little forum activity or responses in the Strawberry area.

Questions . . . . . .

1) will there continue to be two forks Cutenews.RU and Strawberry?

2) will the next release of Strawberry (rumored to be later this year 2007) include ALL the plugins currently available for Cutenews.RU?

3) has anybody outside the Strawberry development team adapted Cutenews.RU plugins for Strawberry? I think one can not use Strawberry confidently without CAPTCHA, and it would be nice to have "approve comments", "newsletter", "related posts", webexplorer" for Strawberry.

4) is there a detailed document describing the core code changes between Cutenews.RU and Strawberry so that someone could attempt to adapt those plugins that nooneelse is adapting?

5) and finally if Cutenews.RU stays as a valid long term fork is it logical to port the drag-n-drop blocks capability of Strawberry to Cutenews.RU

I am posting in both Cutenews.RU and Strawberry areas of the forum in the hope that the various audiences will read and respond.

I think that maybe it would be easier to focus on what cutenews.ru CAN'T do for you.. then trying to add those features to cutenews.ru rather than trying to recreate strawberry to do all the things you love about cutenews.ru.. what makes you want to use strawberry vs cutenews.ru? It's true cutenews.ru is much more active.. it's also much more english. At this point strawberry has so much catching up to do and Lexa (the initial creator) is supposedly working to out-do the old version we have anyways that it seems silly to try to code it to catch up to speed.

Actually I asked my question as I was under the misunderstanding that Strawberry was the "replacement" for Cutenews.RU and so I did not want to invest too much in Cutenews.RU if the Styrawberry would come out with a new release and supercede Cutenews.RU!

FI-DD's response under the help forum (where I double posted the original post) was extremely helpful.
