Javascript Textarea + Increment Increase?

I don't know how to explain what I'm in need of and because of this I can't figure out what to search on Google to find it. Could you smarter people help me? lol

Here's what I want.. a <textarea> that starts with 0 and underneath it (or beside or wherever as long as it works, i just imagine underneath it) is + and - buttons.. when you press + it goes up 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc each time you click it it just goes up 1 more number.. press - it goes down one number.. a simple (i presume) javascript code to help me keep track of my work progress. I have this little .htm page I've been tweaking to make me more productive and this is the next step.

cant you just make a textaread based on php?

lol thanks for replies guys.. i guess i don't really care what language it's in, php ajax javascript binary.. i don't think storing the variable is necessary. just keep current value until opened again or you refresh (f5) it

some smart guy wrote up a code real quick. probably no better or worse than the ones you listed but i figured i might as well update that i found his first, applied it, and it works perfect. you can see here:

Oh, I misunderstood your question. My link increases the size of the textarea while you wanted to increase a number inside the textarea.

haha WOW you thought of it in an entirely unique cool way. not even sure what one would do with that.. but since i hadn't thought of it before, i'll be thinking about it now
