Problem with passwords and login

Hi,

My CNR powered website has been launched lately, since then
there were some weird problems for certain users at a time
to login to the website, while other could login, i had these problems
at the begining and then it stopped for a while until now, other than that,
each time other users gets the problem, it seems randomly or so

The problem is when trying to log-in with the exact username and password
it just says the they are wrong, no matter what, it is then solved by
updating/changing the password somehow, even the "i forgot my password"
sometimes work and sometimes don't, I'm not really sure why it happens,
also deleting cookies helped solving this many times, but not always,
I thought it might be a cookie problem coz sometimes people could not
login from firefox but could login from chrome or so, but now I can't login
from any browser and it even happens from other computers,
also sometime when i try to log in it logs me out automatically which
also mostly solved by replacing the password again. :\


Has anyone had this or something similar? or has a clue/idea what
could solve it?

How many users you got created through the cnr? Can't say that I had a similar problem.
Did you install the phpbb integration script maybe?

Thanks for the comment! hmm most of them were created by phpbb and couple through CNR,
although i checked them all and they are all great and working fine, either way, i set about 3~4 hours to learn about
cookies, a bit sessions and how's the login proccess of CNR is working, i made couple of small
changes in my files, also i let cookies and sessions to run together, which might help
and i've found one small bug in the phpbb2 integration code, that made some of these happen!

nobody thought that when just updating other fileds in the phpbb profile - it always transfers
the "updated" email and password to CNR, and as it doesn't just know if the field has been updated
or not it always updates CNR on every profile updaet - but the problem is that the "new password"
field is filled only when updating the password! so when not updating the password it just overwrites
the current CNR password with "nothing"!
Then I just added some checks before, so the code will not transfer the password if the field is empty.

As of now I havn't seen/heard any other problems with logins (yay!), hope it will stay like that

I've had some weird problems aswell, most notably while using cookies I would be unable to login to my own accout after editing some other account until I cleared the cookie.

To solve I simply switched from cookies to sessions.
