that's a shame.
we could use veterans like you on the forum, but i understand your decision.
i'm concidering also - daily - to switch to another application as cnr is bleeding to death.
but why shutting down Partyism? Spare time?

groet,
Dave

The site doesn't work for me :X

Well, I'm building a very big website using CNR these days
and it's really amazing what you can do with it :)

I'm trying to help revive the community here and we need
all the help that we can get :o

he mentioned that the website is closed.
people who are on the forum for a while knows what kind of website it was.
it was a big website with parties and events. very complex website with a lot of tweaking
in cnr. a shame partyism can?t share it with us anymore.

you know it is strange when you keep trying different CMS systems, like wordpress, drupal and such and I find myself keep coming back to CNR!

Maybe it is because I have been with CNR for multiple years and know it well... or maybe it is the simplicity of the backend and development... whatever it is I keep on falling in love with it.

It seems like every website I make with CNR, I figure out something new about what CNR can do. The biggest thing I'm trying to do is make websites that can EASILY be updated by a normal person who knows little about html.

That is really tough, because you basically have to show them everything.... but the last couple of months I have figured out little tricks of the trade to make this easier!

Thanks to the community at CNR!

and farewell to Partyism -- he was a good guy! Not sure why he went with wordpress to develop his portfolio and blog.... ? Maybe in a couple of months we can hear from him.

I totally agree with you Eberswine.
I?ve been there and from time to time i?m still there to explore other cms systems.
Sometimes CNR do fail when it comes to a decent image gallery, or multimedia plugins for audio and/or video.

The most annoying thing about CNR is that full stories always uses the full story template of the index.php (or whatever you use as your directoryIndex)
When you're not using rufus, you can use different templates to call your full stories.
But with the use of rufus you're not able to use different templates for your full stories.
That is something i just can't stand and it seems that there is (still) no hack to change this unfortunately.

And there are some other tiny things that CNR can't be compared to other "big" cms systems.
It's also a fact that most other cms systems are in the highest development states and CNR is standing still. Sure there is from time to time a new hack, or work around and guys like Darkslim right now, who is putting a lot of energy to make even more snippets. But CNR is slowly bleeding to death. It's such a shame.

But like you've said. I also grab CNR as my default system because it's so easy to configure, "easy to setup", clients
can handle the cms allmost without an explanation... Yes, CNR has a big simplicity factor inside which i very like.
I do hope so that someday one guy walks in and can refresh CNR with more up to date stuff...

* And i want to compliment about your portfolio. You've done nice things with CNR.
How did you managed most galleries on the 'sport sites'?

@ D72

Thanks for the compliments. For most of my photo galleries I have been using another php gallery script. It is also very, very simple to set up. It doesn't use MYSQL but flat files instead,... It is a very fast script and very light.

Link to the php gallery script (and other scripts)

I haven't really tried to combine CNR with the script, mainly because one of my sites we load up 1000's and 1000's of images on a weekly basis.

I didn't realize this? I have never turned rufus on??? I never had the need too.. I'm not even sure what it will do to my url's.. but without rufus, I have had good luck with getting clean simple urls????

CNR RULES!
