utf-8 coding

Postby malistudio » Wed Nov 04, 2009 11:38 am

It would be extremely useful if Strawberry and CNR would be in utf-8 coding.
WHY??
There has been all kinds of issues and problems if you have multilanguage website, and using windows coding for displaying content.

I have changed some of the backhend of CNR to utf-8, and it is working just fine.
So, is there anyone with a complete version of Strawberry or CNR with utf-8 coding?

I have been also modifying my CNR to use foreign characters, like hebrew, it's not that
hard, and I have found/made some usefull codes, if there will be a demand I will write
a guide for translating your CNR for other languages and foreign characters, we can also
include utf-8 with that, and I have also seen some translation packs that people made
so I think we should make a sticky topic with links/files to all these too. :)

Well, UTF-8 for CNR is possible (at least it works with croatian language).
You can make a change in inc/lang/en/global.ini .
You'll have to change the variable "charset" into UTF-8 so it looks like this:
Code: Select all
charset = "UTF-8"
